MOVIE #2: THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS

Stuff that happens in the movie:

- Harry is at aunt n' uncle's house.

- Owl is not allowed out of cage (order of uncle) and Harry responds to owl (who we don't hear) "You know I can't use magic outside of school."

- A house elf named Dobby shows up. Dobby says he works for a family who is plotting very bad things against Harry and that Harry should NOT return to school and that he will do what he can to stop Harry. (And, he does many annoying things to keep Harry from school) Dobby cries because Harry treats him as an "equal".

- Due to Dobby's antics, Harry's aunt and uncle lock him in his room with bars on the windows etc. and say he is not going anywhere near that freakish Hogwart's school.

- Ron and brothers come in enchanted car (flies) and pull the bars off of Harry's window and take him away to Ron's house.

- Harry shops for school supplies with Ron's family. They meet up with Draco Malfoy and his father, Lucius. They are both equally mean and nasty. Lucius insults Ron's dad for being "average" saying he is a disgrace to wizards. Ron's dad replies to him that, "we have a very different idea of what disgraces the name of wizard."

- When Harry attempts to get thru the brick wall (magical gateway to gate 9 3/4) it is closed. (Dobby has done it) Harry and Ron miss train and use enchanted car to get to school. They land in the "whomping willow tree" which "whomps" the tar outta' the car and nearly kills them.

- Ron and Harry and called to the office because they were seen by "no less than 7 muggles (non-wizard-folk)" and that this is one of their strict rules. Afterward Ron receives red envelope which (speaks) is his mother yelling at him and scolding him for the event.

- Draco enters each scene with a snarl and is clearly focused on meanness and evil continually. He attacks Hermione and insults her which leads Ron to defend her by attempting to cast a spell on Draco. His broken wand lands the spell on himself and he pukes slugs for a long time. Turns green. It's very gross. Hermione is broken-hearted and Hagrid encourages her.

- Harry hears voices. He hears, "Come to me", "Blood", "I smell blood", "Let me kill you", "Kill, kill, kill", "Let me rip you", "It's time". He attempts to "follow" the voice and sees large spiders streaming out of the school in a line.

- Immediately a cat is found "petrified" and a message is written in blood on a wall, "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened…enemies of the heir beware."

- Rumors have it that Harry is the heir.

- The legend of the Chamber of Secrets has to do with the 4 founders of the school. Each "house" in the school is named after one of them. The founder, "Slytherin" got an attitude against "mud-bloods" or those who are not "pure-blooded" wizards. He wanted to do away with all the mud-bloods. He was not supported in this. He was said to have created the Chamber in which only his pure-blood air would be able to open and he put in it a monstrous beast.

- Harry, Ron, and Hermione believe Draco has to have something to do with it. So, Hermione get the idea to mix up some "polyjuice potion". It takes a month to brew. Along with a bit of the person who you want to look like (like hair), the drinker will temporarily look like that person (about an hour).

- During the quidditch match Harry is attacked by a "bludger".

- Harry hears the voice again while laying alone in the infermitory.

- Dobby shows up and admits to all the mischief (like the broken arm). Wants Harry to leave the school to be safe.

- While in the infermitory they bring in another person who is "petrified". Dumbledore says he believes it must be true now that the Chamber of Secrets must have been opened.

- We meet "Moaning Myrtle" who is the giggly, crying, funny ghost that lives in the girls' bathroom.

- In the "Defense from the Dark Arts" class the teacher wants to show them how to battle. In the fake battle Harry speaks to a snake and hears himself in English. Everyone else hears him speak in "Parsletongue". In "Snake". He tells the snake to leave someone alone.

- Harry hears the voice again "I want blood", "They all must die", "Kill", "Time to kill". Sees spiders running away again. Comes across ghost and man who are both petrified. People show up and assume Harry has done it.

- Harry is given the opportunity to share with school's headmaster, Dumbledore, about the voices but is afraid.

- Harry speaks with the "sorting hat" and the hat says that Harry would have done well in Slytherin and Harry insists, "No, you're wrong."

- Harry, Ron and Hermione use the polyjuice potion and the boys question Draco and realize he has nothing to do with it. Hermione accidentally gets cat hair instead of her target's hair and turns into a half-cat.

- Myrtle floods the bathroom because a book landed on her head…well…went thru her head. She's a ghost.

- The book which went thru her was the diary of Tom Riddell. Harry takes book and tries to read it. Book has blank pages. Harry writes in pages and writing appears in answer to his questions. He asks about the Chamber of Secrets and "sucks Harry into the book" to show him the answer.

- Tom Riddell attempts to "frame" Hagrid in the past. He sees Hagrid with a large spider and Tom Riddell tries to kill it.

- Harry's room is destroyed and book is gone.

- Hermione ends up petrified and is holding a mirror.

- Lucius shows up with paper to kick Dumbledore out of the school. Hagrid is suspect and taken to jail (Azcaban).

- Harry and Ron follow the trail of spiders into the woods on Hagrid's recommendation. They find Aragog, the giant spider of Hagrid's, and he gives them the answers they want. They realize that Hermione figured out what it was. She's figured out that the beast must be a basilisk or huge snake which petrifies people if they see the reflection of its eyes. If they look directly into its eyes it is fatal. The minions of spiders which have flooded into the woods now have found dinner and chase Harry and Ron. The enchanted car shows up and saves them.

- The basilisk takes Ron's little sister, Ginny, and leaves the message, "Her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever."

- Harry and Ron go to the teacher who is a "fraud". He has written books telling of great adventures and beasts he's slain. They want his help. He attempts to run. They force him to come with them. He attempts to erase their memories to preserve his reputation, but using Ron's wand erases his own memory and is quite funny.

- Due to the "fraud" attacking rocks fall which separate Ron and Harry. Harry must continue on alone. He says he will go get Ginny. Harry finds Ginny lying on her back holding Tom Riddell's diary. She is cold.

- Tom Riddell then shows up. "What are you?" He says that he is actually "a memory". But, it turns out he is actually Voldemort. This is his plot to become a human in a body again. He has been using Ginny to do his bidding. The diary actually contained part of his "soul" and with it he had used Ginny without her even knowing.

- Harry swears his allegiance to Dumbledore.

- Voldemort takes Harry's wand.

- Fawkes…Dumbledore's pet phoenix comes flying in and drops the sorting hat in Harry's hands. He does not see what good this is.

- Basilisk is released and chasing Harry. Fawkes lands on its head and pecks out its eyes. Now Harry can't be killed by looking at it. But, the basilisk can still hear him. Still chases him. Just then a sword appears in the hat. Harry uses the sword to kill the basilisk but is cut by one of its teeth which is dislodged. The basilisk venom should kill him in less than a minute.

- Voldemort is doing his happy evil laugh and dance that he's about to become human again and now nothing will stop him. Harry realizes something. I don't believe he knows what a "horcrux" is at this time, but the diary contains an "actual" piece of Voldemort's soul. Harry takes the basilisk tooth and stabs the diary three times. It bleeds. Voldemort stops laughing and blows up and is all gone.

- Fawkes shows up again and drips tears (which have healing powers) into Harry's arm and he's all better.

- Ron and Harry receive public awards for their bravery.

- Hagrid is released.

- Harry speaks to Dumbledore. He is concerned that perhaps the sorting hat had it wrong and he should have gone to Slyterin house because he, like Voldemort, can speak to snakes. Dumbledore explains that when Voldemort attempted to kill Harry that he ended up transferring some of his powers to Harry. But, he shows him that the sword that showed up to save the day has the name of Griffendore on it. And, he also says that, "It is not our abilities that show who we are it is our choices."

- Lucius shows up with his house elf in tow. It is Dobby. House elves can only be set free from their slavery if their owner sets them free by giving them clothing. Harry runs after Lucius when he walks out of the room and gives him the diary of Tom Riddell and says, "this belongs to you." Lucius hands it to his house elf. Harry says, "Look inside it." Inside was a sock. Lucius had now given Dobby clothing. Dobby was free. Lucius attempts to zap Harry with his wand and Dobby puts his hands up and says, "You will not hurt Harry Potter" and "throws" him far away.
